“Men in Black” star Will Smith backs higher taxes…until he hears France’s proposed rate! Rob Houglum LLMedia Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Will Smith has been a vocal advocate of Barack Obama and his plan to increase taxes on the welathy, but during a trip to France he was asked if he would support a 75% tax level exactly what is being suggested by new Socialist President of France.
Business Insider explains, "The Hollywood megastar enthusiastically preached the text of paying one's equal share of taxes in a French television interview this weekend."
"But when asked about his viewpoint on the tax policy of French president-elect Franois Hollande, Smith's was surprised mad by the recommendation of a 75 percent tax rate on those earning above 1,000,000 annually," reported BI's Alex Biles.
"I have no issue with Will Smith," Glenn announced at the beginning of the video.
Glenn explained that Smith shares the same opinion as many in Hollywood that the rich have to pay more in taxes.
In the interview, Smith replies with a "God Bless America" and a giggle upon hearing President-elect Hollande's proposed rate of seventy five %.
"You can see the actual shock of that number," Stu said. "( Smith ) isn't a tax expert in EU economics. It strikes him as stunning as it should strike you."
